Allan Saint Denis

Allan Saint Denis was born in New York City in 1962.  He studied fine arts at the University of South Florida, after which, he moved back to New York City to continue his studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology.  In 1985, he began a career in fashion as a designer and remained in the business for many successful years.  During those years he continued to study drawing and paint ing at the  Art Students League in New York City.

After selling his business in 2014, Allan returned to school to study his first passion-painting.  He attended the prestigious New York Academy of Art, a school founded by Andy Warhol.  There, he received his Masters Degree in Painting.

His work has been exhibited in galleries in New York- in Chelsea and at Sotheby’s and in Southhampton, New York.  He is included in numerous private collections in America.

Allan’s love of the renaissance masters and his love of Italy prompted him to move to Florence to begin his studio practice here.    His current work explores a daily ritual.  A ritual that, for him, has tremendous power.  A power that is capable of both unencumbering our thoughts and then setting them free in a raw, personal space.  A space that disappears as we enter the outside world.  A world where these thoughts then get buried.
