Antonio Cugnetto

He was born in Lamezia Terme in 1983. After graduating from the art high school of Catanzaro, Antonio Cugnetto moved to Florence, where in 2007 he graduated in contemporary painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and began his personal and identifiable artistic research. He has been part of numerous collective events and competitions throughout Italy, of which the major ones include: the Muv Digital Video Festival in Florence in 2006; Arte Fuori in collaboration with Arte Fiera 2007; Mondadori Art Prize in 2007 (reported) where he participates with the sculpture “Illusion”; Florence Creativity Festival in 2007; Video Minuto review at the Pecci Museum in Prato in 2008 where he presents the video “To Implore”; he’ss present again, this time as the winner of the sculpture section, with the work “Measures of Competences” at the Mondadori Art Prize in 2008 which is followed by the exhibition of the same work at the Verona Horse Fair; in 2009 he took part in Generation ’80 in two exhibition spaces, one of Galleria Modenarte in Venice and that of the Atrium of the Court of Pistoia. We mention Cugnetto’s most important publications relating to double participation in the Mondadori Art Prize (2007 and 2008) and the 2008 Video Minuto catalog. He continues to participate in various national and international fairs: ArtVerona, “kiaf” in Seoul, Korea, and “Immagine Arte Fiera” in Reggio Emilia. In 2011 he made his first personal exhibition at Angel Art Gallery in Milan “To inspect”; in the same year, he participates in a group exhibition in collaboration with “Recò Gallery” in Città di Castello. In 2012 he presented a second solo show at “The White Gallery” in Milan and again in 2012 he won the second edition of the “Premio Ora”, being selected by the “Gestaltgallery” in Pietrasanta (LU), which dedicated a solo show to him. In 2014 he exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Acri and at “Paratissima” in Turin. In 2019 one of his solos shows in Bologna, while in 2021 he began collaborating with AXRT Contemporary Gallery and La Fonderia art gallery, after winning the Fondente Arte competition “Space in search of an artist”.
